FEP Coatings
The melt-processible nonstick coating
PTFE performance with greater abrasion resistance
Benefits of FEP Coatings:
- Non-stick
- Low Coefficient of Friction
- Abrasion Resistance
- Heat Resistance
- Chemical Resistance
FEP Coatings – The melt-processible nonstick coatings
The users of FEP (fluorinated ethylene-propylene) coatings gain the performance benefits of PTFE and other non-stick fluoropolymers, plus the advantage of melt processing in injection or extrusion molding equipment. FEP coatings deliver excellent chemical inertness, heat and weather resistance, exceptional electrical properties, toughness, and durability. Commonly used as a coating for wires and other components in the chemical processing industry, FEP is also available in pellet form for use in thermoplastic molding or extrusion.
Originally developed by DuPont, it is one of the three major types of fluoropolymers sold under the Teflon™ brand name.
